Electricians

At BigSky Solar, our Installer Electricians are key to ensuring every system is installed to specification, meeting our internal quality standards as well as complying with all code regulations. Our Installer Electricians are Massachusetts Licensed Electricians if you also hold a license in New Hampshire then that is even better.

This position is responsible for the installation and servicing of solar photovoltaic and other renewable energy systems.  Qualified candidates are detail oriented, able to trouble-shoot, comfortable working on roofs, and work well in a team setting. Ideal candidates have a wide range of electrical experience.

This is a full-time position based in Woburn, MA and Concord, NH

Requirements:

  • Valid Massachusetts or New Hampshire Journeyman Electrician License
  • Comfortable on (roofs, ladders, and full safety equipment)
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for quality craftsmanship and efficiency

Installers

BigSky Solar's installation team is the muscle of our organization. Our installers are responsible for building and servicing solar photovoltaic and other renewable energy systems. Qualified candidates are hard-working, comfortable working on roofs, and have diverse construction experience ideally a year or more.  Top candidates are detail-oriented, work efficienty, and are eager to learn the solar trade.

The full-time position based in Woburn, MA and Concord, NH provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience and hours towards an electrical license.

Requirements:

  • One year construction experience
  • Comfortable working on (roofs, ladders, and full safety equipment)
  • Team player willing to pitch in where needed

Residential and Light Commercial Solar Project Manager

We are looking for a self-starting Project Manager to manage residential and light commercial solar installations. Solar knowledge or construction background required. 

This project manager job has many responsibilities inside and outside of the company, with the customer always being number one.  Within our organization, the project manager interacts daily with the sales team, the operations group, and all our construction teams. In order to be successful in this role, the project manager must be highly responsive to all parties involved.  Successful candidates must have, or rapidly develop, the expertise to both design systems that meet the highest level of quality and see projects through construction. 

Responsibilities:

  • Sales engineering including design and costing of non-standard solar projects
  • Keeping up to date on product development to select the right equipment efficiently
  • Perform site evaluations to inform both design and pricing
  • Client communication 
  • Materials procurement 
  • Anticipate and address all AHJ issues including conservation commission, historic commissions & building departments
  • Develop construction documentation necessary to communicate details of job, including drawings for construction when necessary
  • Manage sub contractors & equipment 
  • Communicate project status to all parties on a weekly basis
  • Layout and manage site work for ground mount arrays
  • Adhere to design standards, assist writing guidelines for design standards 
  • Contract compliance
  • Meet project budget & inform future project pricing

    Requirements:

    • Construction or project management experience.
    • CSL and NABCEP certification is helpful but not necessary to start. BigSky Solar will support the project manager in achieving appropriate certifications.

    Commercial Sales and Design

    We are looking for a commercial sales representative/solar consultant to join our rapidly growing MA and NH team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in sales, solar energy, or both, as well as be highly organized and outgoing. The candidate will thrive in a competitive setting and embody BigSky Solar's solution-oriented, personable, and straightforward approach with clients. 

    Overview: The successful candidate will engage with potential clients to design solar solutions based on client needs, current financing solutions and technology, and incentives. The sales person will generate proposals for a wide array of potential clients. Candidates will have experience in outside and inside sales with a strong track record and proven ability to close contracts. Candidates will demonstrate initiative, possess excellent communications skills, and be detail-oriented. 

    Primary Responsibility: Commercial business development, including site analysis, high-level system design, project financial modeling, and client support:

    • Qualifying potential clients
    • Educating potential clients on the wide range of solar benefits and variables
    • Analysis of client energy usage and rate structure
    • Conducting site surveys for potential clients, surveys of existing site conditions
    • Designing, estimating and pricing systems
    • Generating high-quality proposals
    • Assisting clients as they move through the decision making process - often with multiple stakeholders
    • Preparing contracts and negotiating contracts
    • Commissioning projects once complete including: attending ribbon-cutting ceremonies, reviewing closeout packages and establishing client reference and other related opportunities
    • Tracking leads, sales, and clients through web-based CRM software
    • Prospecting for leads and representing BigSky Solar at fairs and events
    • Supporting marketing efforts as needed

    Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, basic knowledge of finance and economic metrics, the ability to meet deadlines, the capacity to juggle competing demands, possess good judgment, and maintain a professional demeanor. Proficiency with software including spreadsheets, word processing, and web-based CRM applications.
